Deerfoot Meadows

Project Budget: $1 Billion

Developed by: Focus Equities

Owner: Ivanhoe Cambridge

Scope: 400-acre project, 4 million square foot retail center

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary stretches over 3.5 million square feet of total development. The site boasts around 40 million visitors a year, and has more than 500,000 square feet of land for future developments.  Focus Equities sold the site to Ivanhoe Cambridge in 2008.

The most dynamic shopping location in North America to date, Deerfoot Meadows straddles the Deerfoot Trail, the main north-south freeway in Alberta, crossing the Glenmore Trail one exit to the north of the site, which connects with the Trans-Canada Highway. These freeways carry over 200,000 cars per day. These ramps provide the most convenient access available to shoppers in the Calgary metro area.

Deerfoot Meadows is the epicentre of Calgary, drawing shoppers in the neighboring provinces of Saskatchewan and British Columbia. No other retail centre in Canada can boast the same magnificent geographic synergies that the Deerfoot Meadows project possesses.
